Areas of Responsibility: 

Primary Responsibilities of the Innovation Labs Intern will include and are not limited to the following:

  • Work alongside the AARP Innovation Labs team to accelerate our innovation ecosystem;
  • In collaboration with other innovation team members, support products and service development focused on driving impact, revenue and growth;
  • Serve as an active participant on one or more lab teams, focusing primarily on marketing;
  • Undertake ongoing training and personal development opportunities with the team;
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating leadership and team work and through attitudes in action, like "can do", accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and fun.
Educational Background: 
Undergraduate students with marketing majors or marketing experience are strongly encouraged to apply;
Skills/Experience: 

Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college or university; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and considered rising undergraduate juniors or seniors. AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers.  This may include those who have previously graduated college and are now enrolled in a continuing education program. 

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience running social media campaigns;
  • Experience with Microsoft tools and platforms;
  • Ability to communicate information in a clear, well-organized, and professional manner;
  • Demonstrated organized skills, the ability to multi-task and set priorities, as demonstrated through activities or work experience;
  • Demonstrated interest in enhancing knowledge; seeks opportunities to learn and grow;
  • Candidates who are energetic, detail-oriented, and team-players;
  • Candidates who are able to communicate effectively at multiple levels within the organizations, both verbally and in writing;
  • Candidates who displays eagerness to develop professional skill set and acumen.
