The Human Resources Group aligns policies, procedures, and activities with AARP’s mission and strategic priorities. AARP’s centralized Human Resources Department is looking for an undergraduate student who will serve as a paid Intern to support a busy team of HR Professionals in meeting its goals. Working primarily with the Human Resource Information Services (HRIS) and Talent Acquisition (TA) teams, our intern will be a strong communicator, who is a self-starter and able to work collaboratively with others. This is a great opportunity for a junior or senior who has an interest in developing solid working experience and project management skills. Duties will include:
- Assisting the manager with creating, revising, and updating various process documents
- Supporting system testing for upgrades or enhancements
- Preparing data analysis and reports using the MS Office Suite, SQL, Tableau, Survey Monkey and Oracle tools
- Providing analysis and interpretation of report data, collaborating with HR team members to trace system and end user issues to the root cause of problems, and and implementing solutions.
- Troubleshooting, researching, resolving, or escalating issues as necessary.
- Working closely with Internal Communications to review and refresh pages on AARP’s internal Info-Net InfoNet;
- Assisting managers with setting-up and monitoring social media accounts. You will be actively involved in meetings to advance our social media presence;
- Opportunities will be afforded for the intern to participate on projects related to Learning & Development, Compensation, Benefits and HR Business Consulting
- Participate in meetings, document and distribute meeting minutes to participants
- Assist in data entry
- Pursing bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Information Systems, Data Analysis, or a related field
- Proficiency using business software applications including Microsoft Office, Visio, SQL, Tableau, Survey Monkey and/or Oracle (familiarity with PeopleSoft is a plus)
- Strong discretion in dealing with confidential and personally identifiable information
