AARP’s Corporate Strategy & Strategic Impact team is seeking a strong intern to join its Strategic Intelligence Department as a paid intern in summer, 2018. In this internship you will build your resume while gaining first-hand knowledge of how the nation’s largest non-profit organization works, develops and conveys its programs and messages to 38 million members across the United States. Corporate Strategy & Strategic Impacts defines the vision for AARP and aligns the organization around a common set of goals.
Areas of Responsibility:
Duties of the intern will include and are not limited to the following:
- Manages consulting projects with broad Association impact. Supports and manages specific project work plans; develops and manages project budgets; develops requests for proposals, supports work of vendors;
- Supports execution of complex cross-cutting consulting projects, helps ensure the quality of projects, providing assistance in preparing and review of reports;
- Coordinates with staff to support the conduct of analyses, including collection, compilation and analysis of information from various internal and external sources;
- Supports production of internal strategy events and meetings, including session design, venue layout, materials production, coordination of staff to facilitate and logistics (including virtual)
- Supports the maintenance of up-to-date project records that are accessible by others.
Educational Background:
Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college or university; pursuing a graduate degree and maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Skills/Experience:
- AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers. This may include those who have previously graduated college and are now enrolled in a continuing education program.
