The AARP Enterprise Architecture & Technology Innovation Services group is looking for an undergraduate student to join our BI and Analytics team as a summer intern. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and programming skills, problem-solving abilities, familiarity with data and cloud concepts, is able to communicate well and interpret results to a non-technical audience.
Work with a set of modern technologies and databases hosted on AWS cloud platform to conduct analysis of cloud services, their associated costs, monitor services performance, and develop reports and dashboards to present usage summary by various internal business units.
- Work with stakeholders within the ITS organization to identify opportunities to optimize services usage
- Enhance and develop reports and dashboards to gauge cloud services usage by various projects
- Enhance and develop reports and dashboards to present summary of applications portfolio, business capabilities and other IT assets for usage and traceability standpoint
- Conduct validation of IT infrastructure metadata to improve data quality and accuracy
- Work with data migration team to move IT assets inventory (applications, servers and business capabilities) from on-prem data to the AWS cloud
AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers. This may include those who have previously graduated college and are now enrolled in a continuing education program.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with scripting languages (Python), Databases (SQL/RDBMS), and report or dashboard creation
- Experience and willingness to conduct code testing (unit testing) and system testing (both functional and security testing)
