One of four centers of excellence within ASI Marketing (others are data, marketing and creative), the Digital Strategy Group is responsible for creating and managing digital experiences and functionality for all enterprise programs and needs.  In this group, the Analyst – Email and Social is responsible for managing and optimizing the email and social channels for ASI. 

This role manages multiple channels, including all relevant social media and email communications.  This role seeks to improve the performance and relevancy of these channels through continuous optimization, working closely with marketing and digital stakeholders to ensure alignment of messaging and priorities.  This role serves as a team member in formulating business objectives and strategies to meet business stakeholder needs.

Due to the complexity of the providers’ products, the position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and decisiveness.  Works collaboratively with clients to understand potential concerns and helps develop appropriate solutions in a timely manner.  Reviews providers’ communications for AARP members, including direct mail, television advertisement, digital, social media that contain the AARP IP for compliance with brand guidelines, and contractual obligations.  Escalates issues to management, as needed. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Protects the equity of AARP’s highly valued and recognized IP (name, logo, and member data) and its reputation and credibility.
  • Ensures providers’ member communications accurately and truthfully represent the products and services being offered and comply with AARP brand guidelines and contractual obligations.
  • Mitigates risk to AARP’s and ASI’s assets.
  • Reviews, provides clearance to, and coordinates enterprise-wide review of marketing and other materials related to the numerous products and services made available to AARP member via various marketing and media channels.
  • Provides support to marketing and program management on issues that arise related to providers’ marketing materials.  Performs research, as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, including tax, intellectual property, and registrations, such as sweepstakes and contests.
  • Ensures best practices are applied in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Position is responsible for protection of AARP’s assets, including the name, brand, and reputation.  Supports management with development and implementation of policies and guidelines regarding the use of the AARP IP and providers’ communications when using such. 
Educational Background: 
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 3+ years of relevant marketing/advertising compliance experience in the areas of health, financial, travel, or entertainment desired.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and calmly in a fast-paced, diverse, and high-pressure environment.
