Develops digital products for all ASI commercial needs, including web and mobile app.  Creates innovative digital customer experiences and manages initiatives and functionality that drive growth through digital channels.  Leads projects with agency support to manage existing digital experiences and to prioritize and conduct feature enhancement and new product development.  Understands the business needs, customers, content, design, UX, and technology disciplines.  Collaborates with business stakeholders to translate business needs into highly functional digital products, build relationships with internal AARP partners and lines of business, and liaise with IT counterparts, technical resources, and agency partners.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Contributes to the strategic direction and prioritization of digital products, leading cross-functional product development teams, and aligning stakeholders around digital product plans.
  • Translates business needs into actionable plans.
  • Manages the execution of initiatives from conception through delivery, including gathering requirements and assets, developing project plans, user flows, functional specifications, and user stories, while emphasizing overall project quality.
  • Facilitates the architecting, development, deployment, and support for all platforms.
  • Follows release planning best practices to set and meet expectations throughout the entire product lifecycle, including communications to stakeholders.
  • Evaluates existing products to identify opportunities to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Contributes to the digital strategy plans and initiatives to help set short-, medium-, and long-term goals, linking strategy to execution.
  • Works with teams to build great products by providing product design and insight, problem solving and analytical skills, and product leadership.
  • Assists with management and execution of the product roadmap to meet business goals.
  • Works with finance business partners on business cases and ROI analysis for new project opportunities to estimate project costs and required resources.
  • Uses analytics to continually steer improvements, inform projects, and drive product decisions, coupled with a good understanding of best practices.
  • Conducts market research and competitive analysis to continually identify ways to improve the user experience and business KPIs.
  • Serves as an expert in UX and work with designers to create a compelling and brand-aligned visual experiences.
  • Performs due diligence and necessary analysis to vet new product/feature ideas.
  • Develops and analyzes product KPIs and business metrics.
Educational Background: 
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position
Skills/Experience: 
  • 6+ years of experience in managing consumer and/or business digital products and services.   
  • Experience with product management of web, mobile (web + app), and social media products.
  • Expertise in information architectures, search (SEO), and website performance analytics.
  • Expertise in visual and interactive design, as well as industry standards, regulations, and compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage numerous projects concurrently.
  • Must be accustomed to making data-driven product decisions on a daily basis.
  • Must have the ability to focus on the details, while keeping the big picture view in mind.
  • Sharp, analytical, and problem skills, matched with extraordinary people skills.
  • Experience with A/B, multivariate testing, analytics platforms, and personalization tools.
  • Experience with managing multiple, time-critical projects.
