Desktop Support Technician

This temporary assignment will be replacing client computing hardware with new models as part of our yearly equipment refresh.  We are looking for motivated IT professionals with experience in Apple and Windows enterprise operating system deployments.  The selected candidates will be working in a team replacing desktop and laptop hardware, providing regular progress reports, and interfacing with staff at all levels of the organization.  Teamwork, ability to manage tasks and meet project deadlines, and a service-oriented approach are key.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Perform new computer setup for PCs and Macs using Microsoft SCCM and JAMF imaging tools
  • Migrate user data and perform application setup
  • Perform quality control checks before end-user hand off
  • Coordinate with end-users to schedule meetings and perform new computer setup
  • Maintain inventory of machines in the project and their replacement status
  • Report regularly on status of project
  • Install, test, maintain and support PCs and laptops, peripherals, printers, operating systems and applications
  • Identify improvements to project delivery and workflow
  • Correspond with NPR employees and other departments
  • Educate end-users on hardware and software changes
  • Adhere to defined Service Desk procedures and standards
  • Adhere to all company security and compliance standards
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree preferred with a concentration or major in engineering or computer science or an Associate degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3 years direct career experience in information technology disciplines, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of Service Desk experience
  • Minimum 1 years PC and Mac support hardware and OS troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with remote access troubleshooting and PC/Mac imaging software
  • Familiarity with networking and voice/data cabling
  • Ability to meet project deadlines and provide regular reports
  • Experience with system monitoring systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player, Self-Starter, detail oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Disciplined approach to troubleshooting
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
