In this role you will provide legal support to AARP Services, Inc.’s (ASI) General Counsel and staff.  You will also provides legal support to staff and senior attorneys in drafting, negotiating, analyzing and maintaining contracts for member benefits. You will helps manage and review member-facing marketing and other materials provided by service providers for services and products that are available to AARP membership.  Finally you will provides legal support and guidance to program managers for products/services, as necessary.  Perform due diligence and other legal research as requested.  Keep abreast of all relevant legal developments related to transactions, marketing, advertising, insurance, privacy and tax regulations that could impact AARP Services Inc.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Support contract negotiations for new member benefits
  • Review marketing materials for legal clearance
  • Perform due diligence on potential providers of member benefits
  • Perform legal research
  • Provide support for other attorneys in Office of General Counsel as requested – including research and analyses of transaction issues, and analyses of provisions of current provider contracts
  • Demonstrate One AARP cultural attributes and behaviors in all interactions
Educational Background: 
Completion of a Juris Doctorate degree and member in good standing of the D.C. Bar or eligible to become a member, and 3+ years of legal experience
