Position supports daily operations of Marketing & Engagement, compiling media lists, communicating with Explorers, tracking coverage and writing clip reports, supporting development of collateral materials and assisting with events.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Compile media lists, track media coverage, create clip reports, and staff PR events as needed at HQ. (30%)
  • Handle communications with Explorers and their associated institutions, supporting creation of Explorer-focused content on NG platforms and externally, as appropriate. (30%)
  • Support creation of collateral materials for Explorer recruitment and branded events. (30%)
  • Support other needs of department leadership, as necessary. (10%)
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or other liberal arts field preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum two years of public relations, marketing or similar experience.
  • Knowledge of news media including print, digital, broadcast as well as social media. Excellent writing and copy editing skills, with knowledge of AP Style. Capacity to work with minimum daily supervision and the ability to exercise strong independent judgment.
