Serves as a key team member of the AARP Foundation.  Plays a critical role in supporting communications and marketing through project management and data analytics.  Develops data-driven analytics and strategies aimed at maximizing the effectiveness of Foundation communications and marketing across multiple channels.  Manages the communications and marketing invoicing and budgeting and for the content and presentation of team reporting, ensuring a professional and consistent look to the reporting suite.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Coordinates team projects, calendars, requests, and overall team and project workflow.
  • Tracks, collates, and maintains an inventory of all communications and marketing campaigns, projects, and deliverables.
  • Supports the Vice President with administrative duties, including scheduling, travel, and expense reporting.
  • Manages reporting (quarterly data, measurement, and bi-weekly reports).  Serves as a central resource for key operational and marketing metrics, along with ad hoc reporting/analytics, business intelligence, data mining, and predictive modeling capabilities.
  • Uses critical thinking and communications and marketing strategy as a basis for reviewing various data sources and creating clear outputs to support decision-making.
  • Uses various reporting and analytic techniques (Smartsheet, Tableau, Excel pivot tables, macros, etc.) to combine data from various systems and produce insightful reports.  Identifies and communicates project dates and needs to the team.
  • Documents all sources, processes, and purposes for year-to-date reporting.  Adjusts files based on business needs, building in automation wherever possible.  Seeks input from stakeholders to ensure deliverables consistently meet business needs.
  •         8. Assists the team on special projects and assignments, promoting integration across the AARP enterprise.
Educational Background: 
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in program management; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Creative and innovative thinker, with strong consultation, project management, and writing skills.
  • Strong experience in a matrix-management environment and ability to manage and direct individuals and teams without direct management responsibilities to such individuals and teams.
  • Excellent verbal communications skills, with the ability to communicate with the proper level of detail at the appropriate management level and audience.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Smartsheet, Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Strong proficiency in Mac and PC platforms for file manipulation (Microsoft Office Suite) and Adobe Creative Suites programs:  Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Deadline-oriented and keen ability to multitask, be highly organized, and able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of the print production process and appropriate file preparation.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, including proven ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously with multiple audiences.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Must be able to learn and retain production requirements and techniques.
  • Works calmly and maintains good judgment.
  • Meets immediate and changing deadlines.
  • Meets the highest standards of work.  Consistently provides exceptional project management and administrative support.
  • High energy and a strong sense of accountability.
