AARP's Programs team is seeking a qualified intern to join its Caregiving & Health team this summer. You must be motivated, energetic and willing to collaborate with the team to help them achieve their goals to support the over 40 million family caregivers in the US who need help caring for their loved ones.  As an intern, you will gain valuable work experience with an opportunity to expand your knowledge of our programs and operations.  In this internship you will build your resume while gaining first-hand knowledge of how the nation’s largest non-profit organization works, develops and conveys its programs and messages to 38 million members across the United States.  This is a paid position for summer 2018, and students must be able to commit to 40 hours per week

Areas of Responsibility: 

This internship includes, but is not limited to supporting communications, operations, research and other duties.  As an intern, you will gain valuable work experience with an opportunity to expand your knowledge of our programs and operations. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work closely with the staff in the Programs department to support VP and Programs teams with timely operational, communications, marketing and research. 
  • Prepare materials utilizing PowerPoint, Word documents, and Excel spreadsheets. 
  • Maintain confidentiality of all AARP’s internal information
  • Gather research and compile information on a variety of topics.  This could include online searches, reviewing publications, handling databases and accessing library materials. 
Educational Background: 
Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college or university; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; and be considered rising undergraduate juniors or seniors.
