The Business Analyst will handle a wide variety of activities, directly supporting the National Geographic Society’s Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Operations Officer. The successful candidate will conduct research, write briefings, and develop presentations. They will help to track the status of various projects, enterprise-wide goals, and organizational objectives.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Conduct research projects on topics including:  competitive analysis, political and government leaders, influencers, National Geographic Society Grantees, and other touchpoints with the Society.
  • Prepare briefings and presentations on behalf of the CEO and COO for both internal and external use.
  • Ensure visibility and access to core operational metrics.  Working closely with the Measurement, Evaluation and Research team, establish dashboards and tracking reports for various project, goals, and objectives where needed.
  • Leverage and build upon business analysis and communication skills by serving as a liaison between the Office for the CEO and key internal ad external stakeholders.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 1-2 years experience working in and collaborating with diverse and matrixed teams/project groups during past internship and/or college or university experience.

This is an exciting two-year opportunity supporting the National Geographic Society's CEO and CFO/COO. The successful candidate will be proactive and should possess the confidence and poise to work with the executive leadership team, a wide array of National Geographic Society staff, and various external stakeholders. Specific skills and abilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Resourcefulness with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to generate deep actionable insights.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office. Ability to work with the Google Suite and Keynote is a plus.
