The NPR Training team is looking for an experienced audio producer with a journalist’s mind, an engineer’s ear, and a teacher’s heart. We want someone who knows great sound when they hear it and can help others understand how it got that way.
We need someone who knows how to gather, edit and mix audio while managing the myriad responsibilities of a news producer; someone who takes pleasure in learning and teaching about the tools of audio storytelling.
You’ll have an opportunity to become a leading voice on best practices in audio production. You’ll work with journalists at every level -- from interns and first-time audio storytellers to veteran radio reporters, producers and editors. Through one-on-one and group sessions, conference workshops and posts on NPR’s training site (npr.org/training), your work will reach hundreds of journalists across the country.
You’ll join a creative, enterprising team that thrives on individual expertise and a collaborative spirit. We focus on audio and digital storytelling, editing, audio production, design thinking, diversity, leadership and more. We are dedicated to creating a culture of journalistic excellence through reflection, experimentation and continuous learning.
