The Digital Impact Alliance (DIAL) is a global alliance formed to enable the digital ecosystem to deliver greater scale, efficiency, and social impact as it creates more inclusive digital economies in emerging markets.  Working with partners, DIAL generates evidence of what works through a series of demonstration projects, distils insights and tools to promote scale-up and replication, and provides mechanisms for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and co-investment throughout the ecosystem. 

DIAL is a donor-funded program hosted within the UN Foundation and based in the UN Foundation’s Washington, D.C. office.  The Associate Digital Producer, Communications will be an employee of the UN Foundation.

The Associate Digital Producer, Communications will be a key member of the DIAL team, responsible for supporting and implementing select marketing and communications projects. The Coordinator, Communications will report to DIAL’s Senior Communications Manager and will collaborate closely with the communications team and others at DIAL, including DIAL’s Portfolio Leads, Project Managers and select United Nations Foundation Public Affairs staff, external vendors and consultants, and on joint campaigns with DIAL’s donors and other partners.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Maintain DIAL’s digital presence including but not limited to social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn),  the DIAL website (WordPress) and design/branding guidance on external PowerPoints/presentations.
  • Graphic design including the development of graphics and other visual elements for social media, publications, and other communications materials. 
  • Ability to do light video editing for use on social media.
  • Production experience and/or interest in podcasts, webinars and other multimedia platforms.
  • Writing and copyediting support for blogs and social media.
  • Other duties as assigned.  
Educational Background: 
Bachelors’ degree or equivalent plus demonstrated interest in the UN and international affairs, and emerging technologies (preferred).
Skills/Experience: 
  • 1-3 years relevant experience in the marketing or communications field and interest and/or experience in writing and editing for digital communications and CMS-based websites.  Familiarity with HTML and Mailchimp desired.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and knowledge of other design software strongly desired, like Canva and/or Pixel.
  • Familiarity with Sprout Social, Hootsuite and Google Analytics.
  • Broad understanding of digital tools and social media, with examples of current and successful uses of blogging, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong creativity and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well with a small, fast-paced team and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter – while also contributing to a strong team environment.
