Join our winning team, looking for an Assistant Aquatics Director to help manage three pools in suburban Maryland.

Learning how to swim and swimming for exercise is the core of many YMCA programs. Our YMCA Silver Spring branch located a few miles from Downtown Silver Spring is currently recruiting for an Assistant Aquatics Director.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The fun work of this position includes but not limited to the following:

Our ideal candidate will insure the smooth operation of the Aquatic Department in scheduling lifeguards and pool operators; oversee the daily, weekly, seasonal maintenance of pools and equipment; Facilitate recruitment of all lifeguards; Trains lifeguards including assisting in the quarterly in-house training sessions; Schedules lifeguards and pool managers to insure optimum coverage at all times; Supervises the lifeguard staff with regard to promptness, maintenance, rotation and competence; Tracks staff certifications and ensure that all scheduled guards hold current lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid certifications; and maintains the pools for inspection ready status at all times.

Educational Background: 
The best candidate will have 3 years of relevant experience required; supervisory experience;
Skills/Experience: 
  • Certified in CPR Pro; Certified in First Aid; Must be able to do heavy lifting- equipment, people and chemicals, must be able to climb and use a variety of aquatics and cleaning equipment.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $42,000.00
