Develops and executes change management strategies, including internal communications efforts to support enterprise initiatives and implementation of new programs and efforts.  Understands existing enterprise experience initiatives and industry concepts to make complex messages clear and understandable and to ensure stakeholders are ready, willing, and able to accept and embed change.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Defines and drives communications in support of initiatives and projects, including the AARP Consumer Commitment, Net Promoter Score (NPS), and the Frontline app.
  • Defines and implements storytelling to support adoption of the Consumer Commitment.
  • Works with a variety of communications channels, such as town halls, videos, executive communications, presentations, social media, blogs, and e-mails.
  • Identifies and manages tools to successfully engage and collect ideas from teams and establish metrics to measure engagement and report outcomes to program sponsors.
  • Serves as the liaison with Employee Communications, as well as with business unit communication leads to advance AARP Experience’s communication priorities nationwide.
  • Manages AARP Experience’s InfoNet and Yammer presence.
  • Develops and builds communication strategies and content that inform and educate the enterprise on critical experience initiatives and outputs.
Educational Background: 
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree required (MBA or graduate degree in Communications or a similar discipline is a plus)
Skills/Experience: 
  • 7+ years of professional experience in Marketing and/or Communications.
  • Requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, including the ability to partner with and effectively influence multiple stakeholders and the ability to work with both business and technology stakeholders.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, strategic thinker, and high degree of intellectual curiosity.
  • Strong understanding of process and continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of business operating model and reinforcements -- workforce, leadership, and culture.
  • Strong organizational and program management abilities.
  • Experience consulting and previous change management experience developing internal and/or external communication strategy and campaigns.
  • Should be well versed in various communication platforms, such as internal newsletters and business networking platforms such as Yammer. 
  • Should be familiar with customer experience terminology and tools.  
  • Ability to design multi-modal communication strategies for internal employees and present to business units across the enterprise.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once and to deliver professional work product promptly and on deadline.
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.  Ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations.
  • Highly self-motivated, team-oriented, collaborative, and passionately advocates and articulates her/his opinion, while maintaining flexibility to incorporate others’ point of views.
