We are AARP Foundation Litigation, the litigating unit of AARP Foundation.

We are looking for a top-notch graduating law student with a passion for litigation to work with us to end senior poverty.  If you are a critical thinker, an eager learner, and a team player who wants to gain valuable experience in public interest law, read on. 

We seek someone who:

  • has strong academic credentials and a demonstrated interest in public service.  
  • is smart, ambitious, and intellectually curious.  
  • is a diligent researcher and an excellent writer.
  • is offended by injustice and wants to do something about it.  
Areas of Responsibility: 

Working under the supervision of AARP Foundation attorneys, you will:

  • Conduct legal research
  • Draft memoranda, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Assist in civil discovery
  • Interview current and potential clients
  • Work with outside co-counsel
  • Participate in litigation strategy
Educational Background: 
Current third-year or otherwise graduating law student
Skills/Experience: 
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with LEXIS and other legal research platforms
  • Significant experience with The Blue Book: A Uniform System of Citation
  • Demonstrated public interest/public service interest or experience
Compensation/Benefits: 

Fellowships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
