The Social Media and Website Associate (SWMA) will be a strategic doer with responsibility for executing on strategies to build online engagement with DIAL and for maintaining all of DIAL’s digital properties including DIAL’s website, multimedia, and social media accounts and content. The SMWA will report to the Director of Communications and collaborate closely with the Communications Manager on day-to-day work to develop online strategy, content and tactics. The SMWA will work closely with other DIAL team members, including Focus Area Directors, Senior Director of Business Operations, on a project-specific basis. The SMWA will coordinate with United Nations Foundation digital production and social media staff to jointly produce and share digital content.
- Oversee DIAL’s online brand: maintain visual and narrative integrity of all DIAL content online
- Monitor and grow online engagement: produce and execute campaigns and tactics to increase visibility and interaction among DIAL’s key audiences, and use inbound marketing techniques to drive key audience traffic to DIAL’s social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Linked-in) and websites
- Track and advise on online trends and results: ensure DIAL’s social media and website campaigns and content are delivering on DIAL’s communications goals; report on metrics and make recommendations for improvements
- Develop, distribute, and manage DIAL’s digital content and calendars: collaborate with the DIAL team to develop content; proactively plan online engagement; create, design, and disseminate graphics for social media channels and an e-newsletter; and oversee the distribution and updating of all online DIAL content
Three to five years’ experience working in a professional setting, ideally with an international NGO or in the technology sector. At least three years’ experience implementing social media and website strategy for a global audience, including daily execution and management of interactive online activity, writing and editing content, and recommending best practices and new tactics to increase online engagement.
Desired Technical Skills
Experience developing and managing online properties, content, and images using the following tools:
- Enterprise CMS: AdobeCQ5, Ektron, Sitecore or similar
- Open source CMS: WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal
- HTML experience; CSS and additional coding skills helpful
- Multimedia production, design, and editing using Adobe CS6,Lightroom or MediaValet (or similar), and Final Cut Pro or Dreamweaver
- Email and digital campaign management software, including Covino, Constant Contact or Salesforce; online management tools like Sprout Social, Hubspot, Hootsuite, or Percolate; and Discuss or similar
- Eagerness to learn new software and social media tools as they emerge
Desired Background
- Experience creating, writing, and managing social media content and campaigns, ideally for an INGO or within the technology sector
- A self-starter with ability to excel in a growing startup and with a strong project management and detail-oriented focus
- Must be experienced and proficient working on PC and Apple
- English fluency at native level required
