The Project Analyst supports projects on behalf of the Senior Vice President, Thought Leadership and the Vice President, AARP International. This position resides in the combined Thought Leadership and International team, and is part of the Policy, Research and International (PRI) group at AARP. The Project Analyst position serves two primary functions: research and project coordination.
Areas of Responsibility:
- The Analyst supports projects, coordinates logistics, conducts online research, synthesizes and presents findings, and maintains and supports existing projects across teams. The Analyst: :
- Conducts, aggreges, and maintains relevant online research, including:
- Searching for the most cutting edge research and key insights that serve as the basis for infographics, data visuals, fact sheets or other original content produced and refined in partnership with AARP Research.
- Supporting research to advance new/ongoing engagements with external partners.
- Working with colleagues in AARP Research to compile background documents on external thought leaders and institutions of interest.
- Maintaining and updating external distribution lists.
- Drafting PPTs, talking points, and memos in support of SVP, VP and Directors.
- Manages and coordinates relationships that enable Thought Leadership and International colleagues to work with internal vendors and external partners in hosting high level events, including:
- In coordination with the PRI Core Office staff, preparing background information on event needs (e.g. target venues, proximity from meeting location to desired venues, etc.).
- In coordination with the PRI Core Office staff, drafting creative services briefs and initiating conversations with internal brand teams before full team engagement.
- Providing technical support and graphic designs for presentations, reports, and other special projects, including the creation of data visuals and infographics.
- Works across the enterprise to maintain a more robust organizational calendar, including by attending cross-team strategic planning meetings to stay abreast of public messaging and event schedules.
- Attends external events of interest.
- Supports Thought Leadership and International social presence, as directed by the team digital lead.
Educational Background:
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in communications, public policy or related discipline
Skills/Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in program development or project management, coordination, and implementation; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate well both written and orally.
- Demonstrated ability to forge effective internal and external partnerships across groups and departments.
- Technical proficiency in MS office, with a specific knowledge of Excel and Power point. Additional design skills – Prezi, InDesign, Adobe Spark - are a plus.
