The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Physical Health & Wellness Manager is responsible for planning, managing and executing Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) PH&W activities and events within assigned area, including managing PH&W staff in regional offices with budgetary development and oversight, identifying warrior PH&W issues, and matching needs with program offerings and other WWP available services and support. Manages PH&W community relationships within assigned areas.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Identify and/or develops methods for maintaining contact with warriors and developing ongoing relationships in order to increase retention and participation in PH&W sponsored events and activities
- Manage PH&W activities and regional staff, including developing retention plans, action plans, identifying potential activities and issues, determining appropriate PH&W programs and methods for resolving issues, and communicating with regional staff
- Interact with warriors and work as liaison with other WWP departments to ensure that PH&W issues are successfully resolved and communicated
- Manage tracking and reporting of regional staff KPI’s in Salesforce for PH&W programs
- Travel as needed to specific PH&W events to provide an onsite presence during the event activity to ensure warrior participation and event’s success
- Manage regional budget for team
- Identify new programs and available resources, making recommendations to WWP management regarding additions.
- Establish and maintain community relationships to build an ecosystem of PH&W support for warriors in their region.
- Other related duties as assigned
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree required; degree in exercise science or similar health management field of study preferred

- Ability to troubleshoot, identify viable options and problem-solve using excellent reasoning abilities and demonstrating sound judgment
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals in leadership and key community roles
- Skill and ease while speaking in public and serving as a representative for the organization
- Proven leadership abilities, preferably with experience supervising remote subordinates, including ability to lead, motivate, coach, and educate staff members
Education & Experience Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of staff management experience required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fitness industry/allied health profession, health management, wellness coaching, strength and conditioning and/or personal/athletic training preferred
- Military background or experience working with veterans preferred
