Join a talented, established software development team building NPR’s native mobile applications. You will work as part of a cross-functional team to craft compelling listening, reading, and viewing experiences for NPR users wherever they are.

What we are looking for:

  • Creativity, initiative, thirst for innovation and acute attention to detail

  • Vigor for crafting well-tested, well-documented and elegantly structured code.

  • Passion for standards-based development and polyglot programming.

  • Love for using and contributing to open-source software.

  • Honesty, friendly attitude and good sense of humor. 

Essential Duties Include:

You will be responsible for the development of new apps, as well as improving upon our existing flagship applications on Android, maybe iOS, and a range of other platforms.

Qualifications:

About You:

  • Expert in Android and/or iOS development

  • Strong Object-Oriented programming skills

  • Familiarity with setting up and maintaining Continuous Integration

  • Experience with automated testing of native applications

  • Not just a willingness, but a passion to learn new things

  • Experience working with RESTful APIs

It’d be nice if you had:

  • Agile experience

  • Other web development experience (i.e. HTML/CSS, JS, PHP)

  • Windows mobile experience

  • Experience with rapid prototyping

  • Git or other distributed version control system
