Recommends strategy and innovation of the Movies for Grownups screening series. Oversees the day-to-day planning and execution of screening series promotion plans and event execution plans. Lead liaison with the project stakeholders at the National office and in the State offices, external vendors and assists in managing external partnerships.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Leads internal teams that plan, promote and execute high profile events such as the Movies for Grownups Awards, TV for Grownups Awards,  AARP the Magazine promotional events and other promotional events. Manages event budgets and vendors
  • Represents Media Promotions on cross-organizational teams and initiatives.
  • Leads the execution and fulfillment of AARP Media contest and sweepstakes. Track, analyze and report results.
  • Creates planning, promotion and execution plans for AARP Media initiatives, as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, business, or related discipline and 6+ years of experience in promotions, marketing or project management.

  • Experience in event planning
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, long-term projects
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small teams
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Proven critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
