AARP's ITS team is looking for a strong graduate student to serve its Enterpris Computing team as a year-round, part-time intern at our headquarters in DC. Our ideal candidate is someone who is organized, able to multi-task while working with multiple managers in a fast-paced environment.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Support network systems and solutions for the connectivity of all AARP state and remote offices, technology centers and facilities;
- Document all network solutions and migrate solutions from development and testing to production;
- Provide technical guidance and assist customers in formulating solutions for their network needs;
- Maintain processes, procedures and standards for the operation of effective data networks, specific to LAN/WAN, mobility and third-party network management;
- Support network infrastructure projects, solutions and upgrades within the enterprise infrastructure;
- Basic working knowledge of QOS, particularly in the areas of Voice over IP and Video traffic;
- Familiar with Cisco Switches and routers, knowledge of OSPF, EIGRP and BGP routing protocols;
- Able to support and troubleshoot Cisco wireless infrastructure, including access point, WLC, WCS and ISE;
- Basic knowledge and familiarity with F5 Load Balancers.
Educational Background:
Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed graduate program at an accredited college or university; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Skills/Experience:
- AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers. This may include those who have previously graduated college and are now enrolled in a continuing education program.
