NRDC is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide important administrative and special projects support to the head of the Center for Policy Advocacy department in our Washington, DC office.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Proactively managing the Director and one to two additional principals’ calendar appointments and meetings, travel arrangements, correspondences, and expense reports.
- Drafting, editing, formatting, and proofreading internal memorandum and presentations.
- Organizing and managing all logistical elements of department retreats and other meetings and events.
- Compiling and editing periodic reports from department staff.
- Track department budgets in close coordination with relevant budget managers and Finance staff.
- Coordinating department interface with Human Resources, Finance, and IT.
- Providing administrative leadership and guidance to department program assistants.
- Being an accessible roll-up-the-sleeve problem solver, including occasionally on weekends and evenings.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience:
- Five or more years of experience in an administrative role. This is not an entry-level position.
- Superior personal organization, time management, and multi-tasking ability.
- Good judgment; attention to details; follows instruction well; a can-do problem solver.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build high-value relationships with administrative colleagues, departmental staff, and external partners.
- Poised under pressure and ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
