The CRM Data Analyst is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities associated with data monitoring, data quality improvement and data management. The CRM Data Analyst will provide leadership and project management in two main areas (but are not limited to) Delivery Management and Data Quality: This includes to be responsible for all project management duties related to data governance as well as to provide thought leadership and direction on best practices as it relates to USPS processing, address hygiene and data quality practices.

The CRM Data Analyst works with the Data Governance Director to document, define, analyze and drive improvements to the policies and processes used throughout the lifecycle of member servicing system data assets. This position will be supporting the effort to develop a deep understanding of data usage and critical business requirements in key data systems and leverage such knowledge in various data and business process analyses.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for all Project Management duties in regard to the Delivery Management Project and Data Quality.  These duties will include:
    • Facilitate Meetings
    • Development of Project Charter
    • Development and Management of Project Scope
    • Assist with requirements documents alongside business units and ITS Project Management
    • Aid in defintion of reporting and business rule creation
    • Primary communications lead to internal clients
    • Compile, store, and communicate, as needed documentation on projects and delivered solutions.
  • Maintains relationships with client and vendor staff:
    • Maintains relationships with internal clients to assure requirements are understood, and to provide updates and status reports on portfolio of projects.
    • Develop and manage partnerships with various functional areas in order to ensure effective project delivery and allow for collaboration and leverage of previous work.
    • Educate the team and business unit on the development process, tools and key deliverables as well as potential uses of deliverables.
    • Provides regular reports to stakeholders and management on project status, issues, risks and resolutions.
  • Directly manages the efforts to cleanse, organize, update, improve and integrate data assets across specific business domains.
    • Conducts current state assessments for existing systems. Utilizes data quality, profiling tools, and/or querying tools to analyze and interpret data.
    • Define information requirements, workflow, logical processes, interfaces between varying systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs to ensure that data quality measures are appropriate and comprehensive
    • Actively participates in data clean-up and validation efforts by reaching out to all business partners to ensure integrity of master data across the systems.
    • Actively monitors data input processes, tools, metrics, and outcomes to ensure data accuracy and integrity
    • Resolves problems, corrects discrepancies and provides additional information as needed.
  • Participates in the creation of data standards, policies and procedure to ensure future data quality
    • Works with the Director, Data Governance to develop system controls and procedural controls that support data governance objectives.
    • Participate in the development of data dictionaries  and other standards concerning information about data such as meaning, relationships to other data, origin, usage, and format
    • Utilizes knowledge of databases, applications, and service oriented architectures to document the flow of data from applications to databases
    • Research best practices relating to data governance and data quality to continually improve the data quality program.
  • Participate in the effort to assess vendor solutions and recommend the implementation of tools to design, store, maintain, enhance, and automate business data, metadata, and analytical components.
    • Serves as a SME in the assessment, requirement development, and implementation planning of technology related to data modeling, data dictionaries, master data repositories and the processes around master data as well as database structural design and development
    • Identify and support the implementation of standard sets of tools to effectively manage the configuration process. Manage and implement all changes to master data systems.
    • Consult with existing vendors on changes to existing systems

Educational Background: 
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least 5 years of experience within a technical business environment focusing on database development, management across multiple systems
  • Experience with data quality programs including data quality management, data integration, and master data management principles
  • Competent data analysis skills to assess the current state of master data and identify master data issues
  • At least 5 years experience in improving data quality
  • At least 2 years experience in data governance policy and process definition with some experience in developing business data requirements and data standards documents  
  • Experience in data modeling desired
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent verbal, written, facilitation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and decision-making skills required
  • Experience with USPS regulation, processing and services (IMb, NCOA, CASS, DPV, etc.) required
  • Experience running queries using SQL on different platforms is required
  • Experience with Talend Studio is a plus.
  • Experience with Big Data, AWS, and python is a plus.
