Corporate Development Manager – AARP Services, Inc.

Working in a team construct, the position’s primary objective will be to assist ASI as an organization demonstrate:

  • Efficient concept development process
  • Business model optimization discipline
  • Nimble, iterative go-to-market strategies
Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Evaluate new business opportunities that further the company's strategic growth objectives and participate in pre-request for proposal activities involved in the structuring and development of new strategic investments.
  • Support development of in-depth market sizing data for new ventures, providing both short-term and long-term market analysis, identification of fundamental drivers, best-in-class and segment analysis.
  • Provide financial analysis in the development of business plans, with financial analysis including, but not limited to, business economics, valuation of potential providers/targets, deal structure and sensitivity analysis.
  • Perform due diligence of early-identified targets to ensure financial stability
  • Work collaboratively with Strategy and Business Unit teams to provide actionable market intelligence (e.g., industry, customers, competitors) and internal business intelligence (e.g., economic levers, performance trends, gaps vs. opportunities) in support of corporate initiatives.
  • Participate in inter-company initiatives between AARP & ASI, enhancing collaboration between both entities and ensuring the proper deployment of assets. 
  • Support members of the Corporate Development team on ongoing projects such as New Business Development pipeline management or ASI Dashboard updates
  • Forge and maintain relationships with key strategic players in the ASI ecosystem, to maintain a financial acumen/presence in all corporate development initiatives.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, related field or equivalent experience required
Skills/Experience: 
  • A minimum of 6+ years of job related experience
  • Knowledge of finance, marketing and business development function who can influence others by building trust
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, including building strategic partnerships.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and planning skills and the ability to communicate strategic plans to the team and others. 
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across the enterprise in an extremely complex organization.  Ability to gain internal respect and build consensus.
  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic and a desire to go the extra mile
  • Flexibility and ability to work fast under tight deadlines with demanding quality requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers and business partners.
