The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington reaches over 250,000 members of the Metropolitan Washington community through programs that focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Areas of Responsibility: 
  • The AED will support branch directors in the successful management of all branch departments: aquatics, wellness, childcare, membership and properties and facilities.
  • The AED supervise four to six direct reports; will assist the Executive Director in strategic development and implementation of programs and services to meet community needs; will give leadership to all aspects of program operations including staff development, fiscal development/management, program administration (i.e. aquatics, childcare, fitness, membership, and facilities). Provide the highest quality in programs and services for members, parents, and program participants.  Instill and model a blue ribbon state of customer service.
  • The AED will strengthen and cultivate relationships to assist with branch fundraising goals; Monitor monthly financial reports to assure that revenue targets are met and expenses are controlled. Must have the ability to develop and strengthen community relationships; Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills to problem solve, plus excellent organization skills; Supervise facility usage and maintenance of the facility to ensure a bright, clean, and functional environment.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university;
Skills/Experience: 

A successful AED will have four or more years’ experience in management with direct supervision of multiple levels of a diversified workforce; will have accomplishments in leadership of staff development, fund raising, program planning and innovation, budget development and management of fiscal control systems; Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and personal values consistent with the YMCA mission. YMCA multi-team or branch leader certification preferred.
