Join us as we continue to be a leader in the community. We are accepting resumes for the position of Assistant Program Director for the Educational Retreat Center located at YMCA Camp Letts branch. Camp Letts is a residential camp and educational retreat center located on a 219 acre peninsula on an inlet off the Chesapeake Bay near Annapolis, MD.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assists Retreat Center and Alumni Relations Director with operations, policies, programs, projects, schedule and budget preparation and implementation regarding Retreat Center groups.
  • Supervises Retreat Center hosting staff: manages staff schedules and assigns responsibilities.
  • Leads weekly Retreat Center meetings to discuss upcoming events, group requirements and Host tasks to ensure that premier customer service is provided at all times.
  • Coordinates event logistics with all incoming groups; develops Welcome Letters and event timelines for all Retreat Center events.
  • Manages guest meal counts, dietary restrictions and special needs, and communicates information to Food Service Director.
  • Contacts groups one week before arrival to confirm arrangements and makes follow up call no less than 72 hours after departure for follow up conversation and feedback.
  • Acts as primary contact for major event registration and lodging assignments.
  • Assists Retreat Center and Alumni Relations Director with planning special events including, but not limited to: Family Camp, Women’s Wellness, Navy/Scout Camporee and Turkey Chase.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field with a minimum of 3 years experience in sales, preferably in the hospitality industry;
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must be an effective communicator with excellent verbal and written skills, strong relationship building skills, and problem solving skills;
  • Detail-oriented and organized;
  • Experience establishing program activities/events and expanding current programs; Assists in branch fundraising activities and special events;
  • Demonstrated financial management and budgeting skills;
  • Effective multi-tasking skills with the ability to be flexible;
  • Must have the ability to work with multiple groups to coordinate use of the retreat center facilities. Weekend work is required for YMCA events.
