Summary Statement
AARP Services, Inc. is seeking a strong undergraduate intern to join its Lifestyles team as an important team contributor. The internship is a part-time year-round opportunity, based at our Washington, DC headquarters. You are expected to be a strong self-starter with strong communication skils, willing to take direction from multiple managers. In this role, you will grow in a fast-paced environment while contributing to AARP's mission and the department's goals.
Responsibilities
The intern will assist ASI's Relationship Managers with one or more of the following:
Preparation of Provider Quarterly Business reviews/meetings - Activities include analyzing financial, engagement and marketing communications results, creating presentation materials, and organizing meeting logistics;
Industry Market Scans - Activities include reviewing and compiling market research, reviewing consumer offers, and creating comparison matrixes and recommendations;
Review Member Offers – Provide quality control and optimize AARP member offers on AARPadvantages channels (online, social, mobile, etc.). Catalog offers by type and compare to general market offers to determine AARP’s differentiation;
Member Experience Journey Mapping – Activities include creating an experience map and documenting the customer experience path, highlighting the pain of points and moments of delight. Help to identify ways to incorporate AARP’s experience principles (Inspiring, Effortless and Gets me) into Provider programs.
Requirements
Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college or university; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; and be considered rising undergraduate juniors or seniors. Candidates who are pursuing degrees in business, marketing or communications are highly desirable for this role. Your skills must be proficient in MS office, especially in PowerPoint and experience with web and mobile platforms is a plus. You must be able to work independently and web and mobile familiarity (social media skills) are highly desirable.
AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers. This may include those who have previously graduated college and are now enrolled in a continuing education program.
