Project Manager, In-Person and Online Learning Experiences

Coordinate the planning and completion of educational experiences that help adults 50+ navigate life. The role includes managing the workflow and project tracking during the development of lightly-curated learning experiences, tele-town halls, webinars, and other digital experiences, often overlapping. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

The successful candidate will manage key projects for in-person and online learning and interface with key stakeholders. Additionally, the individual will provide high-level support for the Director, Curriculum Design, as well as backfill for additional staff duties as needed.

Deliverables may include (not rank-ordered): 

  • Coordinates the workflow of complex projects from start to finish, including the content development and delivery of interactive, consumer-focused educational experiences across a variety of formats including but not limited to pop-up experiences, workshops, webinars, tele-town halls, and micro learnings with minimal supervision. 
  • Actively participates in team projects, and manages independent special projects as assigned.
  • Partners with stakeholders to coordinate, create, and prioritize projects and resources
  • Anticipates bottlenecks, manages escalation of needs, operates effectively in ambiguous situations, and makes tradeoffs to balance business wants and creative constraints.
  • Delivers detailed lifecycle maps, project schedules (to include dependencies), and task status through completion.
  • Provides content performance, including response rates and ROI
  • Assists with budgeting.
  • Develops project estimates, scopes, and/or charters. 
  • Exhibit AARP values in all interactions.

Additionally, the PM will:

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the organization and willingness to research questions and develop and execute solutions. 
  • Use sound judgment in the assessment and analysis of internal and external business factors impacting operations to ensure the successful development of appropriate strategies and options.
  • Work collaboratively and provide counsel re: solutions and options and execute solutions.
  • Supports a “test and learn” environment to ensure high quality programming that meets the needs of the states and 50-plus consumers and that is nimble in program delivery and support. 
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree, demonstrated experience in project management, business administration, marketing, journalism, design or related field
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in positions where coordination, networking, information sharing and/or marketing were central to the job.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, demonstrated ability to build, sustain and nurture strong, productive working relationships internally and externally.
