The Cancer Support Community (CSC), the largest professionally led nonprofit network of cancer support worldwide, is seeking an ambitious and entrepreneurial individual to serve as Manager, Corporate and Foundation Partnerships for its headquarters office. The Manager, Corporate and Foundation Partnerships will support CSC’s fundraising efforts by contributing to the development of corporate and foundation engagement strategy and by working with leadership to execute that strategy. As a member of the Development Department, the Manager, Corporate and Foundation Partnerships will also support other campaigns and projects as needed.

The ideal candidate should possess a passion for and commitment to CSC’s mission and to identifying new corporate and foundation partners whose values and priorities are aligned with those of CSC. The duties will also include providing support and follow-up for meetings, special events, and development administrative activities that support organization-wide priorities, including donor relations for the CEO and other senior-level officials.

The individual selected for this role will be a self-starter, experienced in fundraising and committed to fulfilling the mission of CSC. This individual will report directly to the Director of Development Operations, with special projects assigned by the Vice President, Development. Applications without salary requirements will not be accepted.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with VP, Development and Director, Development Operations to develop and execute strategies to increase corporate and foundation funding. 
  • Lead corporate and foundation research and identify new opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with the CEO and VP of Development to identify prospects and develop cultivation, solicitation, and recognition strategies for corporate and foundation partners.
  • Draft grant proposals and track applications.
  • Manage lifecycle of approved grants and foundation funding.
  • Refresh corporate sponsorship plans for Annual Celebration and other events.
  • Create solicitation materials and work collaboratively with senior staff and supporters to solicit event sponsors.
  • Establish and execute to monthly and quarterly performance targets.
  • Ensure all projects and initiatives stay on track according to specified timelines and report out regularly to keep team and leadership apprised of progress.
  • Work with the communications staff to determine development content for brochures, reports, and other materials relevant to corporate and foundation engagement.
  • Supports the Development Department as needed with other fundraising campaigns and activities, such as major gifts, peer-to-peer campaigns such as Giving Tuesday, CSC United Race Series, and End of Year campaigns and appeals, through research, email, and other copy writing, supporting project management and logistics, and coordinating with Communications team as needed.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related discipline from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience in addition to schooling.
  • Strong project management & performance measurement skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid problem-solving and effective time management skills.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint as well as advanced proficiency in Excel formulas
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop trusting, productive relationships with staff, partners, and donors.
  • Ability to stay calm, composed, and professional under pressure.
  • Cross-functional team player.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to adhere to tight timetables.
  • Conducts all work in an ethical, honest, and professional manner.
  • Ability to work extended hours which may include evening and/or weekend event support as applicable.
  • Expect some travel, including weekend travel.
  • Exercises high degree of discretion and diplomacy in dealing with confidential or sensitive matters and materials.
  • Ability to execute tasks in a thorough, composed, accurate and timely fashion while managing multiple, competing priorities.
  • Self-motivated, self-starting, team driven, customer service oriented, and a creative thinker.
  • Valid driver’s license.
