The DOO ensures successful operation of the organization, including, program development and evaluation, volunteer recruitment, staff supervision, community relations, collaborations, facilities, risk management budgeting and financial results at the Kosciusko Community YMCA in Warsaw, Indiana.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Supervises program directors overseeing program departments including: Aquatics, Wellness, Child Care, Gymnastics and Sports. Responsible for direct supervision of Facilities and satellite branch departments. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
- Implements and oversees a program evaluation system (YMCA best practices) to guarantee faithfulness to the Y’s cause, and a high quality commitment to YMCA standards.
- Takes oversight and responsibility for the safety committee and ensuring the safety of processes and procedures throughout the organization.
- Monitors monthly financial reports to assure that revenue targets are met and expenses
- are controlled.
- Ensures the operational growth of the YMCA through program expansion, pricing strategies, and community collaborations.
- Identifies potential areas for cooperative programming to accomplish YMCA goals, and works with staff groups to develop and implement programs. Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs and leads YMCA staff in the planning, development and implementation of new program initiatives and activities.
- Provides reports to committees, the Board of Directors and the CEO.
- Provides staff leadership to assigned committees of the Board of Directors.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in human services, business, social services or related field.
Skills/Experience:
- Five or more years of professional experience in the YMCA preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in all aspects of operations, including staff supervision and development, quality program development and implementation, volunteerism, facility and property management and sound financial practices.
- Understanding of the nature and purpose of the YMCA and the respective roles of volunteers and staff.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community; track record of building authentic, constructive relationships with others.
- YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $52,000.00 - $55,000.00
