Promoting our Y is done through directing, supervising and implementing the marketing needs of the association and by providing strategic leadership in financial development to advance the YMCAs mission through annual giving, government and foundation grants, endowment bequests and gifts and capital campaigns.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Plans and directs the marketing and communication plan for the association. This may include developing newsletters, brochures, reports, social media and maintaining the website.
- Develops objectives and a plan for the marketing and communications area. Monitors the achievement of this plan, taking appropriate action to ensure that the goals and objectives are met. Develops, monitors, and administers assigned annual budget and maintains a positive fiscal position.
- Develops processes alongside the CEO and is actively involved in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting gift prospects. Maintains database resource file on top community leaders.
- Assists the CEO in developing appropriate fundraising policies and procedures for the association.
- Assist the CEO in developing communication plans to insure members, participants, and the community understand the case for support. Along with the CEO, will plan and create the annual report.
- Assists the CEO in coordinating association capital development, annual campaign and endowment programs.
- Prepares and coordinates proposals for grants from government sources and private foundations.
- Assists the CEO in serving on the Financial Development Committee and other assigned committees of the Board of Directors. Develops strategies to increase volunteer involvement at all levels of financial development.
- Trains staff and volunteers as the Brand Advocate.
- Establishes contacts with media representatives and writes and submits press releases when appropriate. Maintains updated files of YMCA’s media relations (both press and electronic). Accumulates a stock of YMCA photos featuring our participants for use in promoting the impact of the Y in promotional materials and social media.
- May plan and coordinate special events.
- Serves as a member of the CEO’s senior leadership team.
- Represents the association as required by the CEO.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/Experience:
- Three to five years professional experience in marketing and/or fund development preferred.
- Excellent personal computer skills, proficient in all standard business software, Adobe Suite (especially Photoshop and InDesign) and similar marketing software.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $45,000.00 - $48,000.00
