Reporting to the Programs Director, Community Engagement, this Regional Manager has key responsibility for providing educational programs, caregiver support and outreach services to enhance Alzheimer's Association effectiveness in this specific region. Moreover, the manager oversees those local activities that raise the public's awareness with local consumers, healthcare and business professionals. As a volunteer driven organization, all staff are expected to recruit, cultivate, support and manage volunteer relationships to advance the mission of the Alzheimer's Association. Occasional evening and weekend work is required, as is mobility to visit any part of the Chapter.
- Oversee all key programmatic activities and services in the region, including:
- Establishing the regional office as a key source of information, support, education and advocacy to the local constituency
- Coordinating volunteer speakers at community, family and professional events and education programs
- Providing talks, lectures and health fair staffing for local organizations, senior citizens' groups, support groups, and care facilities
- Collaborating with Manager of Diversity to support and expand identified initiatives
- Develop relationships that enhance the effectiveness of the regional effort, including:
- Serving as liaison to area Alzheimer's partnerships
- Collaborating with area providers, programs and services and community leaders
- Support the regional fundraising efforts of the Association's Development team, with the regional Development Officer, including:
- Promoting the local Walk to End Alzheimer's
- Identifying volunteer leaders roles – i.e., for Partnerships, Walk Committees, etc.
- Three years' experience in program administration, program development, educational programming and evaluation
- Three years' experience in dementia care including direct work with family caregivers and people with Alzheimer's disease
- Demonstrated success managing volunteer-led programs, with experience in recruitment, training, engagement, supervision and evaluation of volunteers
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Ability and willingness to travel around Greater Boston and northeastern Massachusetts region
