Directs all aspects of membership and health and wellness for the Family Center including recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. Develops, organizes and implements high quality, member-focused YMCA health and wellness programs. Ensures a safe, fun, and enjoyable experience for members and program participants. Provides leadership to membership and health and wellness teams. Develops plans and implements new procedures and methods within Association guidelines to achieve strategic goals. Assists the Family Center District Vice President in development of member centered programs and provides leadership role as assigned to the Annual Fundraising Campaign and key Family Center Initiatives.
Priorities:
- Responsible for development and execution of membership, marketing and health and wellness budget for Princess Anne Family YMCA
- Support recruitment of new members and retention of existing members through the creation of successful marketing plans, strategies and health and wellness programming to achieve financial goals of the family center.
- Supervision of all aspects of membership and health and wellness departments at Princess Anne Family YMCA.
- Participates in staff meetings and/or related meetings.
- Provides leadership to membership and health and wellness leads for the family center.
- Plans, schedules and leads all membership/health and wellness department meetings.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.
- Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Adheres to all policies, guidelines, rules, and best practices as outlined by the YMCA of South Hampton Roads or as directed by supervisor.
- Coordinates with the business office as necessary on financial transactions.
- Enforces all HR policies including dress code, code of conduct, and service creed.
- Leads assigned aspects of the fundraising campaign and achieves goal for community gifts section of annual campaign.
- Serves as Manager on Duty as assigned.
- Incorporates the five core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith into all aspects of YMCA programs.
- Promotes the YMCA mission, vision and character development into all programming.
- Assists in all areas as assigned.
MEMBERSHIP DEPARTMENT:
- Works closely with and follows direction of the Vice President of membership and marketing to ensure standard delivery of the Association Membership agenda.
- Implements membership strategies that support recruitment of new members and retention/engagement of existing members.
- Fosters a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure member satisfaction.
- Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members.
- Coordinates program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and online registration.
- Prepares all marketing plans and monthly sales campaign strategies to ensure overall success for each monthly goal.
- Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provide ongoing support to Program Directors on related issues.
- Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and takes appropriate action to correct variances.
- Ensures proper implementation of front desk procedures. Reviews and updates front desk procedures and communicates changes to staff.
- Organizes membership events at the YMCA and represents YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS DEPARTMENT:
- Works with Association Community Health Staff to infuse new initiatives in the family center.
- Participates in Association Health and Wellness Cabinet and trainings.
- Engages members in Personal Wellness and Association fitness challenges to achieve AIMs in the Association Cause Driven Measures.
- Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in all health and wellness programs
- Ensures safety, cleanliness and function to Wellness Center facility and equipment.
- Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and takes appropriate action to correct variances.
- Previous supervisory experience in member service preferred which would include five or more years’ experience managing exempt personnel.
- Supervision of a 2,000+ membership unit YMCA or equivalency preferred.
- Supervision of budget exceeding $2 million.
- Demonstrated track record of generating leads and closing sales.
- Must have YMCA or other nationally recognized (ACE, AFAA, or ACSM) fitness certification.
- Strategic planning and tactical execution experience that resulted in achievement of goals.
- Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Salary: $38,722.00 - $58,083.00
