Located in a rural South Jersey community just 45 minutes from Philadelphia and 45 minutes from the beautiful South Jersey beaches.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Preschool Teacher provides direction for the children in the classroom, and implements program curriculum. This position also provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families.

Educational Background: 
Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law and must possess a P-3 NJ Teaching certification
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least 21 years of age
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date
  • Knowledge and experience with the High Scope curriculum preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate 
    program activities
  • Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different and diverse backgrounds

  • Bi-lingual preferred but not required
