Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA program(s) for school age children. The program director leads afterschool, camp and sports programming.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives (see detailed list below).
- Recruits, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations. May review and assist with processing program scholarship applications.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
- Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.
- Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
- Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
- Assists with Program Committee meetings
- Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
- Organizes and oversees program activities and events.
- Recruits and coordinates and ensures screening for volunteers from the local community.
- Coordinates and monitors teen summer camps.
- Organizes, and conducts Leaders Club/Leadership High School activities and events.
- Secures facilities for program activities and events.
- Facilitates and coordinates participation in community events, expos, on and offsite open houses, etc. in order to increase awareness and foster relationships in YMCA programs.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.
Skills/Experience:
- Preferred candidate posesses Florida DCF Director's credential and one to two years of related experience.
- Successfully complete State of Florida Criminal History Background Check requirements as well as meet the Association’s policies on background screening
Required Certifications
- CPR and First Aid Certifications required
- Annual completion of YMCA’s Blood Borne Pathogens training
- Annual completion of YMCA of the USA Child Abuse and Neglect class
- Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.
- Additional training classes as recommended by supervisor.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $35,000.00 - $42,000.00
