This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Working alone or in conjunction with third-party vendor(s), manages, evaluates and maintains information system technologies, including networks, security and controls, training and supporting end-users, researching and implementing new technologies, establishing "best practices," and maximizing return on technology investments. Acts a trusted advisor to management and serves as a leader for IT in the organization, participating in strategic planning, outcomes planning and assessment and other operational management functions.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of information systems, including but not limited to:
    • Network hardware (modem/router, server, data backup devices, firewall, UPS, switches, patch panels, WiFi, workstations [PCs, mobile devices, and related peripherals.])
    • Operating Systems/software/applications (Windows, Microsoft Office, Adobe.)
    • Video surveillance system.
    • Telephone and fax systems.
  • Oversee system security, including compliance with information security regulations (HIPPA, PCI/DSS, etc.) Ensure equipment and data security policies are up to date, and ensure appropriate training modules are in place for staff and volunteer training.
  • Evaluate issues pertaining to information systems for strategic planning and innovation. Research areas of technology that relate to the YMCAs needs and recommend solutions.
  • Assist the Sr. Director of Programs and Facilities with developing and monitoring budgets related to information technology. Monitor the costs involved in maintaining and improving information systems, including equipment and software. Evaluate and recommends technology purchases based on the YMCA’s needs.
  • Assist with vendor contract review and oversight.
  • Provide in-depth IT Orientation to all new network users.
  • Act as first-line information systems support contact for all end-users. 
  • Continually monitor technology information outlets for trends and communicate information to management and/or staff as appropriate.
  • Supervise staff and/or volunteers as needed, related to IT needs.
  • Support management team on special projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Associate’s degree in information technology or related field preferred; alternatively
Skills/Experience: 
  • A minimum of 1-2 years equivalent job experience required.
  • A+ CompTIA certification required.
  • Network + and Security Plus CompTIA certifications preferred.  
  • One or more Microsoft certifications required. 
  • Help desk experience preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat required.
  • Ability to research and implement new technologies and solutions required.
  • Skills in problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level required.
  • Advanced organizational skills required.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to varying degrees of changing technology required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, and to train and instruct users required.
  • Ability to maintain an exceptionally high degree of confidentiality required.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $34,000.00 - $36,000.00
