Team In Training Senior Campaign Services Marketing & Recruitment Manager

A strategic, pro-active professional with a knowledge of and passion for the Team In Training (TNT) campaign that is able to direct lead generation localized corporate and community team recruitment strategies to build the team captain pipeline and grow existing teams. Acts as a local marketing consultant and secures sponsorships in markets that host a TNT Portfolio event. Works in partnership with the Corporate Development Team, National Marketing, Campaign Services, Event Strategy and the Field to ensure deadlines are met, messaging is consistent and tactics align with the over-arching business plan.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Act as the primary liaison between the LLS Marketing Team, Campaign Services (CS) & Field Staff to:

  • Achieve community and corporate team recruitment goals as outlined in the Business Plans.
  • Ensure consistent messaging, branding and collateral are used nationwide in all mediums.

Hire, train, supervise and mentor Campaign Services Marketing & Recruitment Managers to achieve annual team recruitment goals.

  • Lead the creation and management of local team recruitment action plans and budgets.
  • Facilitate strategic, consultative communication between the field and CS related to budgeting, planning, execution and results.  
  • Foster an inside sales team dynamic that supports lead generation and team growth.
  • Review ROI on all local marketing & recruitment efforts, make adjustments accordingly and develop best practices across all mediums and platforms for messaging, timing and content.

Act as the primary marketing and recruitment manager for priority markets, including:

  • Facilitate bi-annual strategic planning calls with assigned chapter staff and key volunteer leaders to review team pipeline and establish recruitment action plan goals, initiatives and budget.
  • Implement chapter recruitment action plan to drive community & corporate team registration.
  • Establish regular communication touch points between planning calls to make plan adjustments and ensure alignment with recruitment efforts in the field.
  • Consult with field staff, national marketing and/or 3rd party vendor (Bib Rave or similar) to drive individual registrations in priority markets that host a portfolio event.

Partner with Cross-Campaign Corporate Development Staff to:

  • Ensure team recruitment and relationship expectations are met at targeted companies.
  • Support Portfolio Event sponsorship sales and activation.

Manage local marketing resources, applications and collateral, including:

  • Ensure that team recruitment materials and localized collateral including pitch deck, sell sheets, social graphics, etc... are current, relevant, available on the intranet and meet the needs of the staff and volunteers.
  • Manage shared collateral accounts including Vistaprint, Canva, Email Playground, Signs.com, Drupal etc...
  • Oversee relationships for local advertising initiatives including EVVNT, Pandora, A.R.T., Active.com, Mobile Cause, local social media, tabling/grassroots, POP distribution, etc…

Provide back end financial support, including:

  • Invoice processing, coding, reimbursements, charges and funds allocation for any recruitment related purchases.
  • Oversight of the TNT local marketing & recruitment budget and forecast.

Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree Preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5-7 years experience with Campaign Marketing, Recruitment & Sponsorship
  • Experience working with multiple markets/chapters
  • Strong knowledge of Team In Training and the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
  • Strong people skills with a focus on internal customer service and teamwork.
  • Excellent time management, emphasizing a pro-active, strategic, collaborative approach
  • Proven experience in sponsorship and/or sales
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Strong word processing, database management, and computer skills (Microsoft Suite) with ability to collect and organize data effectively.
  • Be a self-starter, problem-solver and manage assignments independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively within a highly productive and diverse team setting. Must be persistent, organized, and possess the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet critical deadlines.
  • Identifies marketing and media trends, both general and within the charity endurance space.
  • Team player dedicated to ensuring that the campaign is projecting a professional, cohesive and collaborative image at all times.

  • Some travel may be required to markets that host a portfolio event as well as occasionally for department and national meetings
