350.org is looking for a Pacific Campaigner to co- coordinate Field Organising and contribute to Campaign Development for the Pacific Islands in order to fulfill the organizations bold climate campaigning ambitions. Secondary roles of Communications and Digital liaison for the Pacific.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Campaign Development and Field Organising - 70% of role:

  • With the leadership of the Pacific Region Coordinator, contribute to the development of strategy and project management of campaigns for 350 Pacific
  • Support the growth and leadership of the 350 Pacific network by helping to coordinate and facilitate trainings, communications between them, respond to their campaign needs, and amplification and strategy support to campaigns at key moments.
  • Liaise with local organisers across the Pacific to collect and appropriately share stories to support Pacific and global campaigns
  • Collaborate with partners on mobilisation strategy, planning and execution, and attend key local and regional movement gatherings
  • Draft reports on campaign activities and complete evaluations for participants as and when required

Digital Liaison - 20% of role:

  • Oversee and manage 350 Pacific’s social media presence
  • Write email, social media and other digital content such as microsites and action pages to move
  • forward 350 Pacific objectives and share regular stories & updates with supporters.
  • Develop and implement strategies, in collaboration with the digital team, to grow 350.org Pacific’s
  • audience and mailing list, and the rollout of relevant digital platforms..
  • Liaise and engage with global digital team on a regular basis regarding digital needs for 350 Pacific
  • projects and implementation of global projects within the Pacific.

Communications Liaison - 10% of role:

  • Coordinate Pacific media opportunities with the global communications team on a regular basis
  • Dissemination of relevant global communications with Pacific regional media
  • Develop and maintain an up to date list of regional media contacts managed via Civi CRM
  • Engage support from global communications team for Pacific media training and development of
  • communications strategies 
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3+ years of experience in the field of campaigning and movement organizing
  • Strategic campaign development expertise and excellent problem- solving skills
  • Good communicator and collaborator able to work well in diverse teams
  • Ability to be flexible to work across all timezones
  • Outstanding writing skills — we want someone who can rapidly produce content in 350.org’s voice
  • to people all over the world
  • Adept at working flexibly and cross-culturally, with significant experience working internationally.
  • Experience with managing large email lists and social media accounts
  • Video production experience and basic graphic design skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  • We are looking for someone who is comfortable working both independently and in teams, highly responsive, and able to lead initiatives as well as take direction from others.
