Managing Director - Central Recruitment Marketing

The Central Marketing Managing Director for the Recruitment and Admissions Team (RTAT) will serve as the expert on integrated recruitment marketing and drive the prospective corps member journey towards becoming a part of our talented and diverse network of 56,000+ working across sectors to end educational inequity in our nation. You will work in close partnership with the Recruitment, Brand Strategy, and Insights teams to deeply understand the needs and interests of the recruitment audience. You will own and support the execution of a cross-functional, team-wide recruitment marketing and engagement strategy that meets the needs of the audience as well as organizational objectives. To accomplish this work, you will work with leaders across the organization including recruitment, admissions, national marketing, and communications teams. You will also lead a cross-collaborative agile team of digital, creative, and content experts to develop strategy, execute a valuable content experience for prospective corps members, and develop aligned tools, templates, and resources for the recruitment team.

The ideal candidate has a background in cross-channel marketing strategy, exceptional project planning skills, an ability to manage multiple work streams with strong detail orientation, and the ability to laterally manage others to strong results.  

Areas of Responsibility: 

Audience Strategy

  • Leverages audience insights and the prospective corps member journey to define a brand experience that meets the needs and interests of our recruitment constituents.
  • Leads org-wide cross-functional, cross-channel strategy to bring the brand experience to life guiding recruitment marketing and communications across national and regional teams. It will shape key messages specific to our prospective corps members and promote engagement among our key influencer audiences.
  • Leads a cross-functional marketing and communications agile team charged with identifying the needs of the audience and creating a meaningful brand experience that meets them where they are. The agile team will produce direct-to-prospective corps member content, as well as design and develop centralized tools, templates, and content for use by recruitment teams in their engagement with prospective corps members. The agile team acts as strategic advisors to national staff executing components of the strategy .
  • Own and support the recruitment influencer content marketing strategy to be drive across campus-specific communication channels.

Project Management

  • Represents the voice the prospective corps member participant in serving as project lead on high-impact, high-profile marketing and communications projects including the recruitment marketing campaign and roll outs of products and platforms for engagement across all digital marketing channels.
  • Partners with the Project Management Office to ensure adequate capacity and capabilities to support execution
  • Works in partnership with stakeholders and national functional teams including the Recruitment and Admissions Team, members of Marketing and Communications sub-teams - including the Creative, Social Media, Email and Regional Communications team - assigned to the prospective corps member beat to develop strategy and tactics as well as manage tactical execution.

Infrastructure

  • Operating with a digital mindset and principles, develops systems to manage overarching audience strategy across the organization and track progress and impact including structures to share learning, best practices and audience insights.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant professional work experience (e.g., communications, journalism, digital marketing, marketing strategy, brand strategy roles)
  • Experience setting cross-channel strategy and managing others to execution required
  • Familiarity with the education sector preferred

Work Demands

  • Some evening and weekend work required
  • Ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities approximately once per month
