The Manager, National Development Operations ad Communications plays an integral role in the Office of the National Development SVP’s overall operation and success by providing critical and strategic administrative support to ensure that the National Development SVP, Chief of Staff and full Leadership Team are able to work purposefully and efficiently. The SVP and Chief of Staff depend on you to maximize their efforts and ensure priorities are appropriately reflected in their use of time each day, week, and month. You represent them, the Office of the SVP, and the organization with thoughtfulness, integrity, and professionalism to all constituents, both internal and external. You possess outstanding poise and the ability to communicate on behalf of the team and SVP verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences. You demonstrate strong attention to detail, a highly-developed ability to anticipate and solve problems, strong organizational systems, a strong collaborative work ethic, and a customer service mindset.

This includes administrative and logistical support, calendar scheduling, creating and tracking the team budget, and coordinating team meetings and retreats. You will also work closely with the broader team to provide operational capacity like: supporting event coordination, driving monthly budget forecasting, tracking team goals and compliance, and leading ad-hoc projects. In partnership with the Chief of Staff, you will support team-wide culture strategy and communications.

Areas of Responsibility: 

(30%) Strategic management of SVP, National Development Calendar such that everyone involved comes to meetings well-prepared and out of them having made the greatest impact possible in pursuit of National Development goals & priorities

  • Manages internal and external meeting scheduling
  • Coordinates all travel on behalf of SVP
  • Ensures SVP is adequately prepared for internal and external meetings; including outreach to receive pre-work/agenda materials and providing feedback to enhance quality of pre-work/agenda
  • Works with Chief of Staff to measure and track progress to goals along key team-wide performance metrics

(40%) Drives and participates in a variety of special projects to support the Office of the SVP and National Development Leadership team in reaching strategic goals

  • Plans logistics and execution of team events, conferences, step-backs, etc.
  • Provides ad-hoc administrative, logistical or project support for members of the National Development leadership team

(30%) Manages National Development Finances

  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies and takes fiscal responsibility for team resources
  • Tracks team budgeting, forecasting, compliance and planning systems, making recommendations for fiscal strategy.
  • Processes invoices, check requests, and purchase orders on behalf of members of the National Development team and leads the internal team of budget trackers
  • Serves as primary liaison to the planning & analysis, accounts payable & procurement teams
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree required
Skills/Experience: 

Prior Experience

  • 3-5 years of professional work experience, ideally in an administrative or support function with a senior executive

  • Ability to think critically and strategically and exhibit strong judgment while operating with a high level of organization, attention to detail and energy;
  • Ability to work efficiently and with accuracy in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once with a spirit of flexibility, sense of possibility, and a strong customer service ethic;
  • Effective and professional communication skills, especially in written correspondence.
  • Knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel; in particular, familiarity with MS Outlook preferred.

Work Demands

  • Ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities [3-4 times a year].
