East Asia Regional Field Organiser will work to mobilise and scale up grassroots and local groups to empower East Asia’s people to stop fossil fuels industry in the region as well as explore other emerging campaign opportunity to achieve regional strategy. This position will be responsible for coordinating on-the-ground campaign activities including management of partners or groups in the region, planning and executing of a scalable network approach, and ensuring smooth implementation of East Asia Regional program. This position will work as part of 350.org East Asia team and be working closely with Regional Coordinator and Regional Digital Campaigner to scale up the fossil fuel movement in the region. This is a full-time position based anywhere in East Asia countries and will report to East Asia Regional Coordinator.
- Building and keeping up an active network of partners and activists in East Asia region to achieve the East Asia regional campaign strategy
- Coordinating and supporting ongoing campaign development on the ground related to fossil free campaign and other 350.org East Asia activities
- Devising and delivering creative campaign events and action in partnership with a diverse range of partners and groups across East Asia region
- Supporting 350.org East Asia team to achieve online and offline regional campaign
- Helping develop East Asia regional campaign strategy and goals
- Suggesting and developing potential topics for communications and digital outreaches, to expand the climate movement to wider audiences
- Exploring other campaign opportunities based on existing regional partners’ network to scale up fossil free movement
- Being strong and active member of 350.org East Asia team, providing general support for the team when necessary
- About 2+ years of campaign organising, and campaign strategy planning and management experiences
- Strong motivation to help stopping fossil fuel industry by building people power
- Knowledgeable and passionate about climate change, fossil fuel finance, environmental protections and policies
- Excellent organisational skills especially on volunteer engagement remotely
- Comfortable working independently as part of a remote team
- Experience working well with the diverse culture
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and other languages preferred
- Ability to travel within the region 1-2 times every 6 months on an average
- Ability to adapt to and juggle evolving and competing priorities, and meet deadlines
