The Director, Talent Recruitment (DTR) will find and help select top talent for their client teams. This includes designing hiring plans, sourcing candidates using creative and effective outreach techniques, staying in touch with potential candidates via email and phone, conducting interviews and creating or adapting hiring materials such as interview guides. The recruiter will work closely with hiring managers at all levels of the organization, including senior executives, and should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and professional judgement. Talent Advising and Partnership (20%)
- Build relationships with hiring partners at all management levels within the organization to become a trusted partner to internal teams
- Work closely with hiring managers, team leaders, and others on headcount, sourcing, and succession planning for high-priority roles (e.g. Head of Teacher Support and Head of Development)
- Partner with clients to design and co-lead the entire recruitment process from starting a search to confirming an accepted offer
- Balance being a candidate advocate and an internal business partner to ensure you find the best match for all parties
Recruitment (60%)
- Proactively source candidates through a variety of methods, building a consistent pipeline of diverse talent for high priority and hard-to-fill positions
- Communicate with others to develop a deep understanding of the goals, processes, culture and needs of the teams you support; use this knowledge to write effective job descriptions, craft recruitment strategies, design selection tools, and communicate with candidates
- Develop a deep understanding of Teach for America’s strategic direction, commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and use this knowledge to craft compelling messaging to potential candidates
- Maintain clear and consistent records in our applicant tracking system
- Track recruiting data to analyze and report areas for improvement
- Build and apply best practices for recruitment to give every candidate a positive experience and opportunity to display their unique strengths
- Grow your ability to design equitable and inclusive hiring processes by staying up to date with industry trends
Training & Development (15%)
- Share ideas and give feedback to clients on how to communicate with candidates and create inclusive hiring processes that allow candidates to display their unique strengths
- Coach clients to self-reflect on biases that can impact the hiring process
- Direct hiring managers to required trainings
Special Projects (5%)
- Participate in 3-5 days per year of interviewing and selecting future teachers to be members of our teaching corps program
- 3-6 overnight travel trips per year, usually 2 nights, required
- Attendance at virtual evening events 2-3 times per year during peak season
- Attendance at weekend events 1-2 times per year
