The Office of Strategy, Operations & Innovation (OSOI) seeks a Director, Strategy & Innovation to help manage strategic projects and initiatives that are essential to the Talent & Operations (T&O) portfolio fulfilling its charge. In this role, you will utilize your advanced strategy, analytical, communication, and project management skills to help ensure the T&O portfolio is meeting its mandate and delivering maximum value to the organization. As Director, Strategy & Innovation, you will own the analytics used to measure the overall performance of the T&O portfolio, as well as drive strategy and execution of various T&O Portfolio initiatives. To do this, you will work with the other members of the OSOI, the portfolio of teams the office supports (Finance, Human Assets, Information Technology, National Administration, Legal, and Risk & Compliance), our partners, and our constituents. The Director, Strategy & Innovation will report directly to the Senior Managing Director (SMD), Strategy & Innovation. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develop project plans, data analyses, and execution strategies for various office and portfolio-wide initiatives (50%)
    • Design and conduct primary and/or secondary research and data collection
    • Lead data analyses to generate insightful conclusions and recommendations
    • Author compelling communications, presentations, and data analysis 
    • Design and leverage complex project plans to track project progress and identify problems to ensure work is happening on time
    • Coordinate and engage key stakeholders
    • Partner with Change Management, Training & Communications team to ensure effective project change management/rollout with effective training and communications
  • Drive execution and analysis of key feedback mechanisms (e.g. Staff Support Survey, Total Rewards Survey, focus groups, etc.) to measure the performance of the T&O portfolio overall and deliver insights to key T&O stakeholders (30%)
  • Participate in ad-hoc special projects as needs surface (15%)
  • Contribute to OSOI and org-wide culture, learning, and diversity, equity and inclusiveness aspirations; execute org-wide duties and responsibilities (e.g. timesheet submissions, annual selection commitments, etc.) (5%)
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in consulting and/or strategy development (internal or external)
  • Experience administering and analyzing complex surveys
  • Experience revamping policies, business processes, and/or systems to become more efficient, effective, and/or impact-oriented a plus
  • Experience leveraging systems (in particular Workday) a plus
  • Familiarity with TFA culture and systems a plus

Skills

  • Exceptional reasoning and strategic thinking; ability to recommend solutions that are data driven, conceptually strong, and operationally plausible
  • Advanced analytical capabilities – including expertise with complex data analysis; basic modeling a plus
  • Exceptional communication skills, including designing proposals and presentations for varied audiences
  • Excellent organization and project management skills; ability to manage large volumes of work and juggle multiple projects at once
  • Strong relationship-building skills, especially the ability to understand the perspectives of others
  • Willingness to jump in and quickly take on work when urgent needs arise, as well as plan and execute special projects as needed

Work Demands

  • Work location in NYC, D.C., Chicago or Atlanta preferred
  • Occasional weekend or evening work hours required
  • Moderate travel is required (approximately once each quarter)
