In this role, you will accelerate learning and impact across 51 regional teams and a national Development team by identifying, codifying, sharing and maintaining critical knowledge and lessons taking place across the development network. This work empowers over 250 development professionals to efficiently and effectively raise the funds necessary to fuel our work. To achieve this purpose, the Director of Knowledge Management builds and manages a network of key relationships as well as knowledge management platforms and communications mechanisms.
The ideal candidate will have strong skills in relationship building that can adapt to the unique needs of a diverse set of individuals and teams. You will also have strong skills and experience in project initiation and management including proposing projects to improve our work, setting goals, meeting deadlines and managing others toward shared outcomes --- for example, the creation of a suite of resources aimed at building knowledge around corporate fundraising strategy. You will have the ability to synthesize a vast and complex set of information into clear, codified knowledge that can be easily understood by a diverse audience. You will report to the Managing Director of Knowledge Management.
- Manage a portfolio of relationships within the Development team and from other teams across the organization (for example, Marketing & Communications, Board Governance, Finance, Legal & Compliance, etc.) in order to surface knowledge from and deliver knowledge to partners.
- Curate and create codified knowledge resources that can be easily shared such as one pager guides, training presentations, templates and case studies.
- Own and manage the strategy for internal communications, including a weekly newsletter sent to all development staff, an orientation communication series for new development team members and our development “Help Desk” communications.
- Coordinate all internal communications needs for development audiences, in partnership with teammates across the Development team and organization.
- Collaborate with the team on shared strategies such as Peer Learning and other internal engagements.
- Collaborate with the other Director of Knowledge Management on the content management strategy that this individual leads, ensuring that communications and all other KM initiatives are complementary, coordinated and comprehensive.
- Lead and support special projects, such as in-person learning events, as needed.
- 5+ years of work experience
- Previous experience on TFA staff, in Development and/or in Knowledge Management a plus
