The Digital Team at 350.org is transforming in order to better support our amazing community of campaigners and volunteers throughout the world. We are currently developing a dedicated Product Team that will focus on strengthening four pillars of our digital products: Data Science, Organizing and Campaigning Products, Web Products and CRM. 350.org is currently seeking strategy-minded professionals to join this team in its first stages of development, people who are not just great technologists, but strategic thinkers who can help us build, integrate and continue to innovate systems to be used across the organisation.

As our new Data Specialist, you will be handling critical data tasks, such as creating basic SQL reports, monitoring email deliverability, and managing our data quality. You will also respond to a range of priority data support requests from our digital campaigning team, such as email targeting and uploading data from partners. This position will also provide essential coordination support for 350’s new Data Science Team as we ramp up our work on data, metrics, and innovative experiments throughout the organization.

Skills/Experience: 
  • At least two years experience providing data management and support which includes writing SQL queries
  • Solid command of SQL; able to find the most efficient way to write a complex SELECT statement
  • Comfortable writing formulas and manipulating spreadsheets to analyze datasets
  • Consistently spots when data looks wrong, and is compelled to figure out why
  • Enjoys turning mountains of data into clean reports and visualizations that are attractive and user-friendly
  • Pays attention to all the details, ensuring that our conclusions are based on the cleanest possible data
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts, such as significance, sample size, confidence intervals, etc.
  • Strong support ethos; skilled at explaining analytical reports or other data work products to non-technical audiences

Desired (but not required) skills and experiences

  • Knowledge of one or more of the following: ActionKit, ActionNetwork, ControlShift, Python, Django, Redshift, Mode Analytics, Optimizely, Google Analytics, Salesforce or similar CRM
  • Experience coding websites and web-based applications; knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS
  • Prior experience with digital advocacy organizations
  • Knowledgeable about deliverability principles.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working both independently and in teams, highly responsive, and able to lead initiatives as well as take direction from others.

Compensation/Benefits: 

Competitive compensation based on experience. Some salary ranges include.

  • Brazil: 121,700BRL - 152,100 BRL
  • United Kingdom: 33,800 GBP - 42,300GBP
  • United States: 55,000USD - 70,000USD
