The Data manager will maintain, support, and develop 350.org’s existing platforms. The Data manager will conduct testing, analyze data, and work with the Lead Designer to implement UI/UX and technology stack improvements.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Work with our staff and contract developers to establish and improve data syncing systems between 350’s supporter engagement platforms, including ActionKit, Action Network, Control Shift and CiviCRM, as well as exploring integrations with social media tools and other applications like SurveyMonkey
  • Perform ongoing analyses of user data, campaign performance and A/B tests to improve campaign targeting and impact
  • Develop and implement comprehensive tagging and tracking protocols across the organisation and staff to enable highly detailed segmentation and bespoke UX for our supporters.
  • Work with developers and organizing team to optimize the organization and use of CiviCRM
  • Assist the Central Digital Team in establishing automated on-ramps for new supporters in 350.org
  • Work with Digital Trainings Coordinator to train and orient staff using CiviCRM, SQL queries and other data tools.
  • Set up tracking and analysis tools to better inform campaigners and program leads about progress towards their goals
  • Monitor the overall health and security of 350’s supporter lists.
  • As needed, liaise with external contractors for specialized development work.
Skills/Experience: 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Flexible generalist and creative problem-solver. Combines data skills with a capability for big-picture thinking.
  • Strong SQL skills, and a willingness to share insight and expertise
  • Experience in data management and analytics, specifically managing big data sets that are being used across multiple teams within an organization.
  • Experience with distributed, online campaigning organizations.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with online campaigning;
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the climate movement;
  • ActionKit online action CMS/CRM;
  • Light web development skills;
  • Knowledge of UI/UX design.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, and a creative team player. To put it another way: a hammer who doesn’t think everything looks like a nail.
