In order to build an unstoppable force of leaders who take responsibility for, are equipped to, and actually do ensure educational equity and choice in life for children in Memphis, Teach For America – Memphis is seeking a coachable, team-oriented leader to serve as the Coordinator, Program Design (C,PD) for the FY19 school year in a part-time capacity.  As a member of the teacher leadership development (TLD) team, the C,PD supports the Director, Program Design (D,PD) with key design projects focused on our corps members’ summer and ongoing training and development. The C,PD must have a strong orientation toward planning, design, and strategic thinking and problem solving, and must utilize excellent communication skills to support the planning and execution of key projects and events.

Areas of Responsibility: 

General Institute Design Support – 40%

  • Support D,PD with the design of key foundational tools and documents such as the Day 1 Readiness document, the CM Curriculum Scope & Sequence, Calendar, WIDWATW, and more
  • Support D,PD with the design of our institute data management systems
  • Additional ongoing institute design support

 Student Curriculum Analysis – 40%

  • Conduct a landscape analysis, in coordination with previously collected feedback from our 2018 institute, to determine needs surrounding updates to student curriculum design
  • Collaborate with D,PD to build a project plan for student curriculum design updates
  • Execute student curriculum design updates

 Regional Design Support – 20%

  • Support D,PD with the design of onboarding calls and experiences as necessary
  • Support D,PD with ongoing state audit narratives and design as necessary
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree required
Skills/Experience: 
  • Track record of strong design experience required
  • Strong verbal and written communication, and consistent follow through
  • Customer-oriented approach to design; evidence of effective design rooted in the target audience
  • Demonstrated ability to see and articulate the interconnected elements of a larger project, and to design cross-functionally with those interplays in mind
  • Strong project planning and project management skills with strategic thinking and problem solving orientation
  • Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational and time management skills, including the ability to juggle several projects at once with a spirit of flexibility and a positive outlook
  • Capable of working independently while completing tasks efficiently, reliably and accurately
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, including Google Sites, Google Docs, and Google Spreadsheets required
  • Comfort working with data, including data input, creating reports, and analyzing trends
