Teach For America is hiring a cross channel Art Director to develop compelling and cutting-edge brand experiences, create original design concepts, and oversee projects from concept to execution across a variety of platforms. We're seeking an experienced, creative design leader with a solid track record for successfully driving digital marketing with user-centric solutions and mentoring team members. You will have a strong working knowledge of experience design, brand development, digital marketing, and an overall knowledge of the creative process. 

You must possess proven communication skills and design experience, in addition to a superb and professional design portfolio. You will have strong relationship building skills, the ability and desire to coach others and a track record of successfully working collaboratively across teams. You can draw conclusions from performance data and translate the findings to data driven recommendations.  You will have a deep understanding of the digital landscape and new technologies and will ensure that we consistently incorporate best practices in our work. You will report to the Creative Director.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Establish the conceptual and stylistic direction for deliverables to meet project objectives in digital and print communications.
  • Produce high-quality, responsive designs, including those for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Creative, Content, Event and Product Development teams using an Agile framework to define and execute on long-term design vision.
  • Lead projects from conception through delivery, supporting the gathering of requirements and assets and writing user stories.
  • Lead the design of various concurrent projects related to content, user interface design, and functionality, drawing on results from user research and data.
  • Mentor other designers– supporting team growth and development and helping identify industry trends to inform our work across digital experiences.
  • Elevate the visual bar for excellence on all deliverables while ensuring brand integrity and alignment with our diversity, equity and inclusiveness organizational commitment.
  • Verbally and visually communicate design solutions for complex channel and content challenges.
  • Define and document new features and functionality to increase conversion and growth in support of business goals.
  • Ensure all digital products meet high standards of usability and design.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in media arts and design or interaction design preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • At least 5 years of professional design experience, either agency or in-house
  • Experience with Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite and JIRA
  • Familiarity with Drupal or other CMS
  • Experience leading design reviews and managing feedback
  • Experience with agile methodology and process
